Digital Education for Guajira
In Colombia alone, there are more than 389,000 indigenous students. Our organization was born in 2015 in La Guajira (where our founder was born), the indigenous capital of Colombia, where only 29% of them will finish high school and only 5% of them will study higher education. Indigenous students are more likely to drop out of school due to language barriers and lack of support. Worse still, they are also more likely to lack access to higher education and job opportunities as a result of poor digital education and 21st-century skills, which are not fully developed in their community schools. 70% of them are young women. We believe that culture and heritage should never be a barrier to development.
